Grasmere from Loughrigg Terrace
The English Lake District contains a multitude of dramatic mountains and attractive lakes all contained within a relatively small area. One of theses lakes, Grasmere, is best viewed (in the author's opinion) from Loughrigg Terrace which runs along the lower slopes of Loughrigg Fell. Some walking is required to reach Loughrigg Terrace, however those who are reasonably fit should have little difficulty. Starting at the 'pay and display' car park at White Moss Common, take the path which passes the public toilet until you arrive at a large footbridge on your left (just after a tight bend in the stream) which crosses the outflow from Grasmere. Take the path which leads uphill through the woods (heading firstly south east, then veering south) until a kissing gate in a wall is reached. The gate can be a tight squeeze if wearing a large ruck sack or child carrier. Turn right after the gate, the path heads west initially, then soon heads south west. After a few minutes Loughrigg Terrace is reached and the magnificent view of Grasmere to the north west can be enjoyed from one of several benches along the path.

Contributor's Note
It's a good idea to take waterproof clothing (even in Summer) and an OS or Harveys map of the area to avoid getting lost.
